Chebe All Purpose Bread Mix – Gluten Free
I know, I know. I am always talking about Chébé bread mix, but that is probably because I am using it for everything. There are too many people (all gluten eaters) wanting the recipe for my fabulous flat bread (or pita bread) for it not to be mentioned one more time. As a flat bread, Chébé has accompanied various appetizers such as artichoke dips, hummus, and ricotta cheese & sun-dried tomato spread to a handful of recent events only to be devoured by everyone. I still LOVE making pizza’s & calzones with it, but I just will have to buy more!
Side note: put it on the BBQ for a great wood oven flavor, YUM!
The way I make it (depending on your use, you may want to make a double or triple the recipe):
ingredients
1 box Chébé All-Purpose Bread Mix
pinch or two of salt
2 eggs
3 tablespoons oil
1/4 cup water
preparation
Blend together the mix and salt. Add eggs & oil, mix with fork. Once well incorporated, slowly add water. Hand knead until dough is smooth. On a piece of parchment paper roll out dough until about 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Place parchment and dough on a cookie sheet or directly on rack of oven or grill set to 400 degrees (I sometimes preheat, but find it works either way). Cook until slightly golden about 10-15 minutes. Slice into desired strips and enjoy warm.
