wow, I had a soy chai at Starbucks today and had a bad gluten type reaction. I decided to google and see what others are saying. I am just going to avoid them altogether because I had the same problem with their soy regular latte.

I did make a loaf last week using this mix plus some potato flour and it worked well. This mixture is great for anything you want to have a "chewy" texture. I will update the post to explain this. Thank you!

I am not sure about cakes, but so far it has been working well in a 1:1 for regular flour in many of my favorite recipes. The only one I had trouble with a 1:1 ratio is chocolate chip cookies. Please keep me posted on what you find out. Thank you!

Thanks so much for the info! My fam has gone GF and have been having gluten-type reactions a lot lately and we've been trying to narrow it down, but we do have the soy chai's almost daily... We'll def. go without and see how it helps!

I had my first ever iced soy chai tea latte yesterday and within 10 minutes, had an itchy throat. By the 60 minute mark, I had hives on my eyelids. At the 120 minute mark, laboured breathing and my eyes were practically swollen shut, while I waited at my doctor's office. I do not have a gluten allergy. But I am severely allergic to something in that drink!
